The dice idea is nice while Deepa's concept is easier for a child to understand. I think that while children need to understand uncertainty, their security and mental health depend on certainty. To my knowledge religion and the concept of a supreme being who makes the final decision as to what might happen is a useful crutch in explaining uncertainty to a child. shiv
