Yup planning to go to Tulum and Playa Del Carmen.

How easy is it to get around by bus (tica bus ?) (and basic Spanish) ?

Yup planning to do that. Any good reading on the different cultures ?
I don't have a lot of time but am interested in history.

Any recommendations for Oaxaca ?
