One of my most memorable snacks was eating millets in a village near Pawna
Dam. I was staying in an ashram and the lady who cooks there, invited us to
her home, an uphill climb to her village near Lohagadh Fort. When we
reached her house, she sent her kids to get millets, which she popped into
the fire. Once the millets had cooled off we rubbed the stalks, releasing
the roasted green millet seeds, and had it with a light sprinkling of salt.
It was amazing that something so simple could taste so healthy. Or maybe,
we were just hungry after the uphill walk :-)

PS: I saw that they were growing millets on a slope. Apparently it does not
need much water to grow them, unlike grains like paddy.
