A fragrance, especially a high end one, is a composition, and is hence
*art*. Trying to justify pricing by looking at the prices of the
component materials leads you down the path of the price of canvas and
paint in  Ravi Varma work.

I realise that this interpretation may have its skeptics. Shrug.

This is a different case. 80% of all eyeglasses in the word are made
by one company - Luxottica. So basically, monopoly pricing.
