There are lethal voltages and currents involved and if you don't know your way around electrical devices *and* high voltage in particular, you're putting yourself in grave danger. That said, I fully agree with you, John, that this is an interesting process that I plan to look at more closely. > Maybe someone else on this list will know what size that type of > particle is. These are the first areas I'm focusing my energy on now that it seems like my time is going to be my own again. <g> We've got some halfway measures and some more expensive techniques, but not as good as I'd like. > I am making a perfectly acceptable product to me, which seems to > be vastly superior to the old 9v battery process. ... utilize the > silver electrode much more efficiently... more stable ... does not > seem to "drop out" or get more ... yellow upon sitting. I don't doubt it may have these features. The downside of the HVAC techniques has to do with the safety issues I cited above, plus some additional complexity and the higher cost of commercial units. The LVDC techniques can be utterly simple, cheap, and seem to produce workable CS. One other reason the DIY low voltage method will continue to be talked about is that it is based upon more survivable technology. Some of our members value that feature as well. > ... you may find that this simple arrangement can make a yellowish > product that compares much more favorably to the product produced > by the high quality 10,000v AC machines ... than does the product > produced by the 30volt DC (9v battery process) And the good news is we won't have to give up on either method because they both seem to work. And we can help each person navigate the cost/complexity/quality space to where they're most comfortable. That's the goal of our group. Thanks! Be well, Mike D.
