I heard that the Folate, etc. PREVENTS the saturated fats from sticking to arteries. But once the fats are on the blood vessel walls, then taking plenty of fresh or dried powdered juices (of fruits/veges/herbs/grains) which has SOLUABLE FIBERS will help clean and "sweep away" the fat deposits.
I think it is better to take whole food concentrates like juice powder, but there are formulas just for the heart--Cardio One, for example, has Folic Acid (2.4 mg.), Vitamin B6 (10 mg.); Trimethylglycine (for reducing homocysteine levels); and a few other ingredients for vascular support. I haven't tried the Cardio One, so I don't know how effective it is (I don't have a heart problem.) It sells for $17.95 at 1-800-227-1937 Ext. 30740 for around $17. As I said, I think the money would be better spent juicing your own fresh fruits, herbs, and vegetables, but if you have a heart problem, you might want to do both. Hope this clarifies your question.
