We have been seening them almost daily in Knoxville for the last 4 months or
so. Mainly in the afternoon, but sometimes they start arount 9 am and put
them up all day.

edb is ethylene di bromide. It is a banned pesticide because it is so
harmful to humans. It is also harmful to birds, and because of the heavy
killing of birds the ticks are the worst I have seen here. The edb breaks
down the blood brain barrier so that the pathagens can more easily attack
the nervous system, causing encyphilitis, minigenitis (SP?) and so forth.
CS kills the pathogens before they can get across the compromised barrier,
so it seems to work great. edb also causes chaping, lips, and causes the
lungs tissue to break open, allowing pathogens to more easily entery the
blood stream.

The wildlife service sent out an announcement a few months after the
spraying started stating that something had killed over 4,000 bald eagles
and was asking for any help in solving the mystery. They said that they
were dieing from lack of coordination caused by some chemical attacking and
destroying the layer that protects the brain and nerves, and were losing
coordination, and thus couldn't fly. DUH.

Here are some pictures we have taken of them over the months:

These Sean took after getting a higher res camera:
