It is an antioxidant amino acid available at health food stores.  The full name
is N-ACETYL-L-CYSTEINE. I use a the arrow brand.

Use distilled, filtered will have lots of salts in it, that can create toxic
silver salts, which can cause smurf-itus.  Reverse osmosis purified is second
best.

I consider 5 -7 ppm optimum for oral, and 5 -12 for nasal or topical.  Other's
opinions may vary.
