Lions and all cats large and small do not even eat an empty stomach! They neatly cut the stomach out of the prey body and take it aside. They are more fussy than wolves.
The pride leader is a female, not a male. The males' reign is usually short lived, two or three years and are then replaced by the younger males. The females in the pride are all related and the female cubs never leave the pride.
