And the major problem? Centralised governments, at a distance from
the people, disempowered local chiefs/councils, World Bank, Green
Revolution, and forces of cultural erosion, like mass tourism. Most
important is the mocking of their taboos and rituals, which generally
associated with local deities in a system of give and take.
Yes, 'globalism', 'big-brotherism', refusal to take personal
responsibility - and be personally accountable - for yourself is a big
problem...
Most people 'say' they want freedom, but don't have a clue what true
freedom is, and end up voting for beurorats that promise them bread and
circuses...
'Science' is a waste of time, to my mind.
Its a waste of time if the 'scientist' in question isn't truly searching
for the truth, or working on something that has the potential for
bettering our world (and provide an honest living too)...
And we are not better off than our Ancestors: Its the myth of
material progress.
In some ways we are, in others we are not...
At least your wife doesn't have to spend all day scrubbing your clothes
in the local stream so you can have clean shirts...
Greed and materialistic world-views are the problem.
Most people who say this don't have a clue what they mean by 'greed',
just have some vague notion that usually resembles 'rational self interest'.
The people wit the 'greed and materialistic world views' problem are
those in positions of power, not the average Joe who wants to get ahead
and make a buck.
