I used Diatomaceous Earth (Food Grade) which worked wonderfully -

more scabies, mites, etc. I dusted myself, my whole house (wearing
a dust mask, of course) with the stuff and around the outside of my
house. I vacuumed indoors the following day. It's cheap and works
great! Take care.

You don't *take* DE for scabies, you apply it externally. You can
take food grade DE for intestinal parasites, but you never take
pool grade DE internally.
BTW, my own recommendations for EXTERNAL use of any actual
pesticides such as Sevin (Carbaryl) or Permethrin are to be taken
with a huge dose of caution. I can apply Sevin to my body but a
couple of days of it made me feel woozy. I can't take skin contact
with Permethrin, it irritates me and makes me itch as bad as
scabies. Ode suggested an OTC Lindane medication, and I'd bet Lice
Spray and/or Lice shampoo would work, but I can't have any contact
with Lindane.
I killed Termites in a building with Lindane once and I couldn't go
back in it for a month.
