It's often thought by the medics that it requires close contact, and more likely to be caught, because it spreads so, through people having a series of relationships. WHich is true. ANd so oftenthe case. The mites can't live long without human host (72 hours). But, it can be picked up through cloth -towels, sofas and bedding.
