By that I mean to suggest, ironically, that they didn't change their lifestyle in anyway after a cancer scare - the study prohibited them. Of course, he may have tried to apply correction factors - but whre do you get that data from ? About lifestyle changes that are not uniform, or quantified in terms of power of remission over these various cancers. And we're talking about longitudinal studies here - quite rare.
He should have concluded then, that the earlier doses of Vitamin C 'protected them for life! And got a Double dose of Nobels.
