Zeb- I've been taking colloidal minerals for 14 years. I think they
are very good for me. We have had a much reduced rate of colds and
flu, and better joint health. My back has not gone out in all that
time. I did injure my knee Jan 07 and had a very hard time healing it,
it was weak and frequently got re-injured. In September we started
doing the Budwig protocol and part of that is becoming a vegetarian,
eating lots of fruits, vegetables, and non-gluten carbohydrates, as
well as correcting the omega 3: omega 6 ratio by using Flaxseed oil
blended with cottage cheese or drained yogurt. Anyway, perhaps not
eating meat, which must tie up Calcium to balance the phosphorus in the
meat, has made my mineral balance much better in that my knee has
gotten much stronger so it feels good and does not have pain on
activity anymore. Anyone else find fewer joint problems on a
vegetarian diet?

Thanks for posting those web sites ole. I have been wondering about
these issues with supplements myself due to kidney problems.I do take
supplements and know that they help because of my blood work
improvement and the fact that I never seem to get flues or colds
anymore(a constant problem for me in the past( I still have many
health problems thou. I have wondered about inonic minerals that are
plant based. I have heard good reports about these and yet there has
been reports on alot of heavy metal contamination with ionic minerals.
My biggest problem now is that I have bone problems and the beginning
of osteoporosis and so taking minerals is important but I have alot of
calcium deposits in various areas that show up on xrays. I think
minerals are very important but it is crucial to get the right kind
that are absorbed and get into the bone. Taking magnesium is important
when taking calcium.
