Yes Marshal! Thats the commercial where you see Dr Jarvik, the inventor of the artificial heart, look you straight in the face and tell you how wonderful the drug is..... The wager is that IF Dr. Jarvik being who he is....says its safe...by golly, it must be so, regardless of the risks.
Btw, he is now being investigated by a congressional panel for the possibility of dispensing medical advice without a license. They have expressed the concern that celebrities, by virtue of their popularity, (name brand assoc marketing) are being employed by big pharma to deceive, or lull the public. For profit. Geeze, who wuld a thought? I guess thats why these people are elected...to observe the obvious. I know of only one person on Lipitor - imagine....as a prophylactic (because his doctor reminded him that his Dad died at 85 from a heart attack) who has NOT stated that eventually, either or mysterious pain, confusion, memory impairment, and brain fog symptoms develop. Marshall Dudley <[email protected]> wrote: Isn't Lipitor the one I have been seeing advertised on TV lately where they give all these horrible side effects, including death, then top it off with: "The FDA has stated that it that for SOME people the benefits MAY outweigh the risks". They somehow make that sound like a glowing testimonial, but it made me think that there is no way I would ever take that stuff. How can anyone listen to an ad like this and even consider taking it?
