On second thought, you have a point.
But, "No child left behind" means that the slowest child in the class sets
the pace for the entire class.
One squeaky wheel puts the big rig in the shop for an 18 wheel lube job.
I only know the people I know and most are pretty independent, but then,
I tend to avoid those that aren't, so I don't really know how many there
are that aren't.
..."seems like" I'm paying a lot of taxes to support those support
demanding folks I avoid knowing even if it is 75% wasted on administrators
and cheater police.
In the socialist scheme of the "Rainbow Family", 25% or less do all the
work for a year to make everything "free" for 2 weeks....but the rest
never see it and say,"See how things can be"?
We are Veger. Our mission is to teach you about sharing. We have come to
share your stuff with us.
When I give a wino a dollar, I'm really paying him to go away...and a deal
at that.
I'll loan a friend $20 without hesitation *especially* if I know he'll
never pay it back, paid to never try to borrow money from me again...a good
deal.
I know what *I* did and we can stay friends. Win win.
When we pay out social security tax and never expect to see a dime of
it...isn't that what we're doing?
Who is it that doesn't want it to go private?
Who was it that voted for people to give them programs that can't be paid
for, mandating theft from a fund that didn't have *legal* protections built
into it so those that give the people what they want can get themselves
re-elected by those people.
Tyranny of the majority is a real deal...or, the majority was too busy
working to vote...or, the majority thought it was worthwhile to pay off the
minority that can't get enough for nothing and is now complaining about the
impossible ever growing expense.
Which is it?
I don't know.
If he does pay it back and doesn't want even more later, better
friends...otherwise, a "DrainBow". [God bless his little heart, I'll still
make him a sandwich for the road. I am an enabler, can't help it.]
I do know:
"Human nature" in America is to be kinder than other kinds are to themselves.
No 40 year old childs children shall go hungry.
We'll always make the needy helpless blood sucker a hemoglobin sandwich and
they know it.
...all those innocent "lovely precious little levers" ...feeding their parents.
Watcha gonna do? Watch babies starve? No way.
Raise them yourself? Ain't gonna happen in any "direct" fashion and that
only makes room for more.
Can't feed em, can't starve em.
Catch 22.
I recon the right to life will eventually kill us all...and maybe that's
the best of all ways to go.
Survival without heart ain't worth much.
Here, have another sandwich, bean sprouts and gravel this time,
sorry...it's all I have left.
Shoot. If that blood sucker has a sandwich, he'll give half of it away too.

> Sorry Ode, but your take on human nature is a bit tainted. I mean,
where did you get the idea
> that we all need 'looking after'? I can fend quite well for myself
thank you very much and can
> well do without the Government or any other regulatory body telling me
what is 'for my own
> good'. How insulting. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels like
this. In fact, it is
> precisely the control freaks and manipulators that have brainwashed
people into believing that

pretence, or repeat the
> misinformation. Thanks.
