What ever the reason for starting the FDA we are at a point that it no longer matters. The drug companies now control the FDA. The FDA represents the Drug companies and their profits. The FDA only seems to act after there are deaths in the hundreds or thousands, unless it's a food supplement that is. Then it's big time trouble and they have to come in with their guns.
