In searching for info about vitamin deficiencies, I came across
something that implies that reaction to MSG may be due to a deficiency
in vitamin B6, possibly due to a deficiency in zinc... So, you may be
able to affect it by supplementation.
See below.

Reactions to monosodium glutamate (Chinese restaurant syndrome) (B6)

(B6) Probably caused by a Vitamin B6 deficiency induced by Zinc
deficiency
(Zinc is required for the activation of Vitamin B6)

It's also a natural extract when processed, like
Monosodium Glutamate,
accurately labeled as a natural flavoring.

You may believe that MSG is harmful, but..it's also
unavoidable.
                The question is, how much?

We have a friend living and teaching in the Philippines
that is assisting several women with treatment due to kidney shut down
from MSG. Seems that use a lot of it over there to flavor due to lack
of funds for meats and such. They use fish heads and marinate it in
water with MSG for a week or so and then pour that liquid over rice to
give the rice flavor. It seems to effect women more than men and a lot
of women die young over there.

There is no free medical over there, even veterans.
They might be seen by a doctor but they have to buy their medications or
they don't get well from what we have been told.
