A zero reading on a TDS can be as high as 1.99 uS...IF..it is reading
right so far out of it's usual range when calibrated at 300 PPM [~600 uS]
Even a good brand of TDS meter calibrated at 300 PPM can vary as much as 2
digits between meters at 5 "PPM"..so..if it hasn't been re-calibrated for
the lower ranges, the water can be as high as 8-10 uS and still read zero
PPM. [Range read error ]
Every TDS meter I sell gets checked at 10 uS [ a median of the "intended
use range" ] and adjusted as needed.
About half of them need it. Of those, it's usually one digit off at 10
uS, a few are two digits off.

Accepted.
Someone stated that their meter would not go below 1.0 or similar.
That is what got my attention.
It is my understanding that a TDS meter's lowest reading is 1.0 uS. For
estimating uS of finished CS, I think Ode just said you would take the
reading and double it. I think that means a TDS reading of 1.0 uS would
also be doubled for testing distilled water?
I guess they know people will buy them if the call them what the people want.
I think I checked in with this list to see what meter would do what I need
done, and was told the TDS would not suit my purposes, so I got the PWT,
and it has served me well.
