Hi Faith,

I have a gallon jug of cs which is dark brown and it is supposed to be that way.  It comes from www.purestcolloids.com.

I also have made cs which is yellowish and it works just fine, just tastes a bit more metallic.

All other things being equal, tindel effect ok, taste ok, if I couldn't make my own, I would keep it and use it.

But that is just me:)
