Could very well be. I'm always confused by these terms--which is why I use positive and negative. All I know for sure is that the negative (healing) pole will pull a compass needle TOWARDS it. Which is why I said north seeking. I could just be using the wrong phrase.

A magnet has a north pole and a south pole, or a north seeking pole and a south seeking pole. The north pole of a magnet is the south seeking pole, and the south pole of a magnetic is the north seeking pole. The north end of a compass needle is a north seeking or a south pole, and will be attracted to the north pole or south seeking pole of a magnetic. Thus you statement above is contradictory. The north pointing end of the compass needle is attracted to a north pole, not the south (north seeking) pole.

And that whole pole shift thing--I will be crazed, because then my wet magnetic ear finger won't work anymore! Sigh Samala,

I hate to get involved in this controversy again, but, as far as I can
determine, the "negative" magnetic pole is the same as the "North"
pole (it is the same as the north pole of the earth). It is not the
same as the north "seeking" pole (which is the south pole...)
