Yes, I'm familiar with all this.  I've read enough material over the years 
regarding 'compounds'.

 

I've used rain water on several occasions, emergencies take precedence over 
purity of water in such cases in the short term.  Meters are no good if using 
this water though so it's all guesswork, well I did get a batch tested several 
years ago just so I had an idea of the total silver content figure, so in my 
case it's not entirely 'guesswork' I spose.

 

I just wanted to know if that machine, the 'pup',  would run in water *other* 
than DW, now I know it's got a manual over-ride switch I understand that it 
will.
