The recipe I provided has saved many many children in third world countries who are not able to get gatorade or pedialyte. I believe you will find sugar in most of those products besides dyes.
It is strictly up to you...I was just trying to provide you with an alternative to the pricey stuff or if you could not get it but if you have the money...go for it. Pedialyte: Each bottle contains: water, dextrose, potassium citrate, sodium chloride and sodium citrate. Nonmedicinal ingredients: FD&C Blue #1 and Red #40 (grape flavor) and FD&C Red #40 (bubblegum flavor). Bottles of 1 000 mL (unflavored, fruit and bubble-gum flavored). Cases of 8. Do not freeze. For hospital use: glass bottles of 240 mL (unflavored), cases of 24. Protect from heat. After opening, store Pedialyte under refrigeration and use within 48 hours. Homeade recipe for pedialyte... 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp potassium salt 3 tsp sugar mix in 1 liter of water Best regards... Thank you for your reply. dee On 22 Jul 2009, at 17:14, Sandy Hollis wrote: here is a recipe for Oral Rehydration Therapy [ORT] it works very well for adults, children and animals.
