that was what I couldn't find on Googling i.e. smaller amounts and also unflavoured. Your recipe looks good and easy to use. By baking soda (and I know we have been through all this) would you mean what I call bicarbonate of soda, because I have that. Thanks for the info. dee

The recipe I provided has saved many many children in third world countries who are not able to get gatorade or pedialyte. I believe you will find sugar in most of those products besides dyes.

It is strictly up to you...I was just trying to provide you with an alternative to the pricey stuff or if you could not get it but if you have the money...go for it.

Pedialyte: Each bottle contains: water, dextrose, potassium citrate, sodium chloride and sodium citrate. Nonmedicinal ingredients: FD&C Blue #1 and Red #40 (grape flavor) and FD&C Red #40 (bubblegum flavor). Bottles of 1 000 mL (unflavored, fruit and bubble-gum flavored). Cases of 8. Do not freeze. For hospital use: glass bottles of 240 mL (unflavored), cases of 24. Protect from heat. After opening, store Pedialyte under refrigeration and use within 48 hours.

Homeade recipe for pedialyte...

1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp potassium salt
3 tsp sugar

mix in 1 liter of water

Best regards...
