Hi, I have been reading the list for a couple of weeks. I have a CS generator using 3- 9 volt batteries (made by Silver Utopia). My instructions were to process the CS for about 50 minutes for 10 ppm. I have never gotten anything with any color at all this way, but have understood that this may not matter.
Still, after reading a post here a day or to ago, I decided to run a batch for 2 hours. Today the water does have a slight yellowish cast to it. But the main thing is that it tastes dreadful! I have observed the discussion of "distinctive taste" that CS has, and would like to have someone describe this taste. My earlier water just tasted like water with perhaps a slightly metallic taste. But the new batch is quite bitter to me (I am very sensitive to bitter tastes, though, finding tonic water intolerable and barely able to choke down grapefruit juice). Yuck! Does this sound like how it should be? Maybe my earlier stuff wasn't strong enough? (I admit I haven't tried the mold test yet, but I did spray some of the first batch on some mildewed tiles and didn't notice much change.) So, am I likely to poison myself with this bitter stuff or should I be excited that I finally have the real thing?
