I think you are right on there, and that is the approach I take.  It works 
sometimes, but not too often.  My suspicion is that most people don't want to 
think either that they have been doing the wrong things all these years, or 
that they have been missing out on the right thing to do.  Plus when they look 
up CS online they find all sorts of conflicting and mis/dis-information, 
especially from authorities, and that scares them off.

But the numbers of people who are learning about it are growing in spite of all 
this, so that's going in the right direction.

I think this is no different than any sort of thing you want to convert people 
to.  

Let's take religion, for example.  Rather than confront people not interested 
in your message, whatever it may be, dazzle them with your life.  When they ask 
questions, answer them honestly and openly.  

Let your particular experience and life be what attracts their interest.  You 
may make the occasional comment, but make them ask questions before you bombard 
them with info they don't want.

Nobody wants to deal with evangelical types, whether they are evangelical about 
religion, politics, diet, or colloidal silver.

That's just my take.
