Every flea market or dollar store I've gone to has someone selling the
Panasonic 9v "regular (not alkaline) batteries in packs of 2 for a
dollar. for what we do, their "goodenuff".
RS is netese for Radio Shack.
A wall wart is an encapsulated powersupply to run battery operated
personal appliances from the AC mains. The AC wall plugs are part of
the encapsulated unit, so when it is plugged in it looks like a wart
on the wall.
