Hey Dave,

If you sent messages to the list that didn't post, it was not because I 
stopped them. Either you weren't subscribed at the time or not with the 
address you sent them from (unlikely if you were receiving messages), 
they disappeared into the ether for no good reason, or they were too 
big for the very restrictive message size limit (18k). 

That, unfortunately is a silent failure; the list server does not auto-
respond. I often let people know their messages are too big and how to 
easily trim or reformat and re-send, but there have been periods of 
months at a time in recent years when I've not been able to give enough 
attention to the job to catch those cases and respond individually to 
each one.

I've had to defend folks making argyria reports a couple of times. It's 
hard for some to hear and natural for them to be suspicious. We need to 
hear these reports, though.

The reception you and Max are getting today is what I expect of the 
group. You'll be asked to give details and answer questions; I expect 
everyone to listen respectfully, assess the data and learn.
