The story on the Niacin flush was a lesson that everyone should know about. When I first used niacin I bought 500 mg tablets from costco and when I got home I took one, about an hour went by with no flush so I took another one then all hell broke loose. I turned beet red all over my body and felt like I had been rolling in fiber glass, My Heart beat started pounding very fast and touching anything felt like fire including my clothing . Sleeping was impossible. That went on for twenty four hours. So if anyone asks me about taking niacin I tell them to start small and build up. Now I take 1000 mg in the morning and it takes about twenty minutes for the flush to start--sometimes less, then at bed time I take another 500 mg and it also gives a small flush. Dave
