Hi Aldi,

I find borax at an ordinary supermarket here in South Africa. Try the 
laundry section ( it is a good soap or soap additive ) or the 
insecticides section ( it is sometimes used to control insects).

I'm hope it helps. 

I sometimes use a solution of borax on my own hair as a shampoo. Just 
because it makes it feel clean, soft and flexible.
