Clear is fine too! Some say superior. You don't want grey/black water. In other
words don't go past golden. The consensus is the particle size gets too big to
enter the bloodstream.

How long are you running it? Are you using 3 or 4 batteries? Don't add anything
to the water such as salt. It's not necessary. 

Now all these recommendations are for newbie starters. When You're comfortable
with your product, you can experiment with more complex methods.
One to try, is to add ONE DROP of honey to your starting water. This will speed
up generation, and will probably get you to the golden previously mentioned.
