Bubbling can be used a a cheap way to stir. It introduces CO2,
increasing the amount of silver carbonate generate. In general it does
not cause silver nitrate to form unless the air is quite polluted, or
you are brewing in the middle of a thunderstorm.

Not being a chemist, I wonder what the implication is. Can the
simple addition of citric acid form silver citrate, or does it have
to be silver oxide or more....
the above site seemed to indicate at least two pathways and they
seemed a little complicated, I didnt try to tease them apart with my
limited chemistry.
any ideas on this?
