Also,  to get the amount necessary, you need to be in the mid day sun for 
at least an  hour with most of your skin exposed, which in my case, is 
completely out of  the question. dee

DR Becker says the sun has to be 45 degrees or more to get vitamin D. No  
way in Washington state in the winter. That is one reason I became a snow 
bird.  Also if you shower after sun bathing you wash off the vitamin D. Most 
sunbathers  will shower then wonder why their level is so low.
