Lasers: I don't believe the beam is useful immediately upon cessation of the brewing process. It may only be faint, or not visible to naked eye at all until that solution goes through its stabilisation time frame. It takes time for Ag+ ions to form atomic ion clusters {particles} so you will have minimal particles present immediately upon cessation of the brewing process. If you are brewing to a shutoff point using a laser you may be brewing longer than is necessary? Particles formed may be larger than desirable? The "just going yellow" colour may intensify over time in storage? Lasers only indicate particle content as light refracts off those particles, hence time is needed for solution stabilisation before that beam intensifies, or visible dependant on how many atomic ion clusters are formed. Particle size is also a factor which may influence intensity of the beam, but if there is nil settlement after days/weeks or months in storage then those particles a plenty small enough to be bioavailable {opinion based on much research}. The best way to observe the beam clarity is to aim it at your chin from the opposite side of the container, you will also notice it is conical in shape/form. N. I get fluctuating voltage when I whack the 36v power on to begin with, using the same brand of water, sometimes by as much as from 5v to 9v. if it’s just going yellow, what’s the ppm, roughly? if it’s at 30v after three hours one batch and 38v after 3 hours the next under the same conditions, what’s the variable? what does the 10 amp resistor do? I’m beginning to use the laser pointer as a gauge as when to stop cooking – ie. when I can see the beam, it’s done – is this a viable method? sorry! a
