Dear BRPETERMC, Without a conductivity/TDS meter you are shooting in the dark. A very worthwhile investment, even for the home user.
Some local "DI" water here in Santa Fe measured 4 PPM. "Arrowhead" brand, made by a company which has been in business for 105 years, and is widely, if not nationally distributed, consistently tests 0.0. A recent poster who mentioned "rose coloured cs" would do well in my opinion to try another distilled water supplier an see if the same colour results. I had been generating consistent cs for at least 10 batches when,to my horror, with no apparent difference in method, materials etc,the cs was markedly dark.....process began far too high in conduction...result was large quantity "cloud" appearing from the start of the process ,high quantity discolouration of vessel, and dubious looking brown liquid at end of batch. Suspecting the water,I purchased new containers of the same brand.Subsequent cs run gave...again to my horror...the same yucky stuff! Now I was curious about my generator...but checks showed all working perfectly... Finally I have tried a water from a different supplier. This time process begins at nice low (less than 1/2 mA),and final colloid is colourless altering to slightly golden overnight.Sounds like time for questions for the first distilled water people..any query you would recommend? petemc -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver.
