We're on the road (presently in N.C.) and have heard that the tree pollens are 
causing widespread bronchitis throughout the south this year for lots of people.
It could be that climate change has produced new irritating combinations of 
tree-pollen schedules. So sorry that CS nebulized hasn't helped you. It 
definitely helped me, but I also used it the very first night I coughed. Local 
honey might help, although it would be from last year's harvest, so the pollens 
of now might not be the main elements.
Once, while on the road, I had pertussis, at the same time we were downwind of 
forest fires in Truckee. Used Sambucol and elderberry cough drops, which helped 
a lot.
