If they are floating, they are not large. The interface between the electrode surface, air and water is the most abundant place where available free electrons exist where a silver ion can pick one up and become a metallic colloid. At that place, the water also has surface tension and the metallic silver has some weight, so it bends the water surface into a bowl. All those tiny silver particles roll into the center of the bowl like micro marbles forming what looks like a "silver slick" that's only a micron or so thick. Another interface is where bubbles are adhering to the electrode surface and metallic silver gets trapped in the surface tension of the bubble....the bubble pops when the electrode is drawn out transferring the silver to the surface tension on top.
Stir it in. Anything that's *actually* large will sink to the bottom..leave it there. ode On Tue, Apr 3, 2018 at 9:33 AM, Mitchel Davis <[email protected]> wrote: > Hey there, I have a silver-puppy and recently after making a batch, have > noticed a collection of larger particles floating about after I take the > generator out, is this normal?
