I'm sorry that happened to you. The ones spreading misinformation forget that people get hurt when these things happen.
I used to have Hepatitis C and went through countless "cures" over the years in the same way. A real one finally came through but I was seriously damaged by the original treatment, Interferon and Ribavirin years ago and I'm still living with the results.
