Here is a pic today from NASA from the SOHO space telescope which watches the 
sun.  No one it seems has
any idea what the streaks are.  It looks like a meteor shower, but that is 
impossible, since the streaks
you see from meteors are from them burning up in the atmosphere.  These are out 
in the vacuum of space,
and it appears that those in the background are curving as well.
