I expected many to answer Jenny, but since none did, here you are:
Cloudy is a sign of bad stuff - silver atoms or salts and should not be used!
If your distilled water was poor (I have seen as high as 18PPM of minerals)
you will produce silver salts which are of little value and may be risky in
quantity. You should get a clear solution for good colloidal silver. California
is the only state I know of that limits the allowed PPM of DW (2 PPM).
Deionized is generally much better!
In order to be sure of what you are doing, it is rather important to have
a means of measuring the starting water and final product. Meters are
about $50 (we use Hanna PWT - don't sell them but our unit has one
built-in). To make the most consistent product, you should also lightly
circulate the solution and limit the current flow, to help prevent the
formation of metallic silver crystals. Ions are 300 times up to 17,000
times more effective, so it is critically important to control the process,
if you wish to make the best Cs. Many get by with untested, random
product but sometimes complain about bad batches when in fact
their batteries had died.
No one can really answer your question of what to do to use your setup,
as you have not provided the critical information of voltage, electrode
size, spacing and wetted area, if current limited, water quality, if a cloud
appeared between the electrodes, if you filtered it, etc.
We have on our general health site a great deal of information about Cs
and many suggestions for doing it right and what to lookout for. We will
also test your Cs and water for free at any time!

Hi everyone,
I've just made my first couple opf batches ofC.S. using a small
battery operated unit. It's rather cloudy with a thicker , darker cloud on
the bottom of the glass done for 30 mins with 8oz distilled water)
Is this right? I'd hoped for clear or golden colour. What do I
need to do?
regards Jenny
