Hi Fred,
Arrowhead brand distilled water tests between 0.0 and 0.4 PPM.
Here in Santa Fe New Mexico, one local supplier's DI has tested 4.0 PPM.
DI may also have live pathogens, which properly handled and stored
distilled does not.
I had been using a DI cartridge before my still, and the distilled water
was higher in PPM with the DI device than without. Go figure...

Hi! James, the only commercial DI setups I have seen use auto switch-
over but then I guess they could have a bad or failed sensor. I tried some
of the Brita DI cartridges and got mucho activated charcoal fines in the
water which kicked up the PPM indicated. Now that I think of it, your reply
to me that your PWT reads non-ionic silver is the same basic thing I got
with charcoal. It of course settled in time and then was out of circuit!
As to the super DW you get, do you think they might be using a DI after
filter (certainly quality control)? I get it down to 0.2PPM but the next jug
might be 15!
