Dear Marsha, Activated charcoal is an integral part of my emergency medical chest. It can be used to treat accidental poisoning inclding food poisoning due to its absorption properties. I use it at ther first sign of tummy distress and have never had a problem with it. WOuld not want to be without a bottle for emergencies.
