JUST HAPPENED TO GET THIS VIA EMAIL.
Hopefully we will not have to write about this situation again. I want to
thank our friend who is a Presbyterian pastor in New Zealand for this
information.

Tax the Net
By Dr. D. Bunk, Help & How-To
The government is planning to tax the Internet!
This one is sooo old. I personally remember it in the "golden-days" of BBSs,
and 1200 baud modems, when we were all convinced the government was going to
tax modem phone calls made in our local exchange. This resurrected rumor has
morphed in the Internet age to describe either a tax by the U.S. Postal
Service on e-mails or a government tax on Internet connection calls.
First off, the alleged bill numbered "602p" doesn't follow the standard
number system of either the U.S. House of Representatives or the U.S. Senate.
Furthermore, according to MULTIPLE sources including U.S. Congressman John L.
Mica's Web site and the U.S. Postal Service the alleged sponsoring
congressman, Tony Schnell does not exist. Also, the U.S. Postal Service has
stated on their Web site that they have no authority to tax anything on the
Internet.
