I have sets of new pure silver wires sitting around in an open envelope for months, still bright and shiny! I`ll put my specimen of sulphur next to my nugget and see what happens. Marsha >>
Marsha: Silver has a huge affinity for sulfur. If it doesn't turn brown forming silver sulfide, it just means that the silver wire might have a superficial oily coating to temporarily protect it, or that there is no mechanism (temperature or humidity?) to carry a tiny amount of sulfur into the air as vapor so it can react with silver. I wouldn't bet the farm that it wouldn't react over time. Roger -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver.
