Thanks to Vince and everyone for your ideas. The problem remains that there is no evidence of any infection. The wound has even been cultured recently. The entire site came out sterile. It just won't heal quickly. It's been two and a half months. I'm grateful, though, because the one I had two years ago took five months to heal, and this one is doing better. The Silverlon bandage seems to promote healing and not just kill germs-...............................I, however don't have the 80 bucks for a roll of the product right now. thanks again all, Hugh
