Listers,
Once again I want to post this link to Dr Bart Flick's Jan. 2000
appearance on Jeff Rense. The first hour
he describes the development of silverlon and explains how silver kills
microorganisms.
Dr. Flick states that normal skin voltage is in the range of -50 to -70
mV (the same potential as on the
surface of a normal mammalian cell). This voltage is maintained by little
potassium pumps in the skin. When an
injury occurs the skin voltage increases to near 0. The silverlon works two
ways, by preventing pathogens from
reaching the site of the injury and secondly normalizes the skin voltage of the
injured area.
One other interesting point he brings up early in the show is that ions
of silver kill microorganisms by
interacting with the cellular and nuclear membrane. When silver contacts the
cell membrane it interacts with a
control mechanism which in turn alters the way the cell reproduces. In
bacteria, when the silver ion touches the
cell wall of the bacterium it kills by preventing the cell from reproducing and
stops several key enzymes from
functioning within the bacterium cell.
When the silver ion contacts a mammalian cell it doesn't harm the cell
but actually stimulates the cell to
go a "regeneration" mode. Too much info for me to relate from memory. Point
