Hi Dean No, by temperaments, I mean a melancholy disposition. You know, sanguine, choleric, melancholy, and phegmatic? If you haven" t heard of them, maybe Myers Briggs? No? What I am trying to say is that some dispositions predispose people to depression. Extroverts, Introverts, Optimists, Pessimists etc. The way we are made. Melancholy personalities tend to be perfectionists, which is frustrating since we live in an imperfect world. This can even cause depression in some people. Might sound silly, but its true.
These temperaments tend to be more sensitive, more affected by life's turmoils. They don't bounce back quite the same when hurt emotionally etc. This predisposes them to depression.
