Dear Allan, I too have put CS up my nose for sinuse and it burns like the devil, but guess what, when you have chronically or acute inflamed sinuses plain distilled water also burns. I know this is icky for most of you but what I have fount that does not burn is "shudder" urine, likely due the natural high content of antiinflamatory steriods made by your very own body.
I used to get this severe sinus burning when I would go swimming and I would blame t he chlorine in the water for pools and the salt in the ocean. But it is just water alone that will burn.
