Hello,
I was referred to you by James from Allison's Apothecary. I have a question
about a possible drug reaction with colloidal silver. Here are the details, so
you can best answer my question. I make my own Colloidal Silver (without NaCl)
to a concentration of 5 PPM. I have been giving a tsp. to my 4 1/2 year old
daughter twice per day for the treatment of bronchitis and a sinus infection.
Here's the catch................she is a kidney transplant. She is taking the
antirejection drug Neoral (cyclosporine) and I was wondering if anyone knew if
colloidal silver affects the cyclosporine levels in the body and blood.

The reason that I question it is that her cyclosporine levels were high
yesterday, and her dose has not been changed. I do know that some antibiotics
cause the body to produce cyclosporine, so when she takes those, her cyclo dose
must be reduced. Being that colloidal silver is a natural antibiotic, I
thought that there may be a chance that it can have the same affect.

Her sinus infection has cleared up and her nose is running clear.......she
still has a terrible cough, but all that is clear also. I suspect that with
such a low dose of colloidal silver, that we should be pretty safe as far as
drug interactions go, but in light of how she has been reacting, I need to make
sure. She has been crying and restless, very itchy, and not able to
sleep...........all of her other lab results were very good, and there don't
seem to be any other particular causes (i.e. headache, earache, etc.)so I am
turning to you, in hopes of some answers.

If you know anything about this, or if you need further clarification, please
email me at [email protected]

Thank you so much for your help!!
