Thank you Frank.

And your compulsive reply implies the same thing about you.

Because it is pointless to try to discuss science with someone who
keeps jabbing you with a verbal stick?

You are committed to the scientific debate *and* a personal jihad
against Frank. Ducking for cover is the appropriate response.

Stuart, I probably made a mistake not jumping on you with both feet the
first time you stepped over the line many months ago. I had hoped that
your research and experience would be of sufficient value to our
members that it would balance your occasionally difficulties getting
along. Instead, while you have indeed shared valuable information with
us, you have also helped to lower the civility of the discussion.

The list used to be a much friendlier place. The takeover by a handful
of argumentative "tech types," as they're so fondly referred to by some,
has fundamentally changed the tone of the group and driven away
who-knows-how-many people who might have stayed and contributed to the
discussion in a positive way. I think it's been a mistake.

Sorry Stuart, I just had the carpets cleaned. This isn't a mud
wrestling match. It's supposed to be a pleasant get-together of friends
and associates who share a common interest and a desire to help people.

While it is welcomed here, spirited discussion especially demands a
spirit of respect.

Again, you must choose what standards of behavior you will maintain.
That decision will influence the action I take toward you in my role as
list owner.
